Time

Time is an immense ocean,
ever-changing, with shores unknown.
Can a human being, like a fish within it,
swim across its entire expanse?
Can we ever swim across that vast distance?

The heavens stretch endlessly, and time is boundless.
Have we measured the cycles of its currents?
Can a human being, like a bird,
fly across such distances?
Can we ever fly beyond every limit?

The ages may have boundaries,
and the future may be vast, but can we reach it all?
We have only fleeting moments in which to do good.
Until the heart falls still and the body lies motionless,
we must strive to do good.
Until the heart falls still and the body lies motionless.

Do we not have time, or has the moment already passed?
“What ill fate is this?” Do we complain yet again?
As the opportunities of time fade away,
will the paths of our deeds prove fruitful or futile?
Let us seize the moment and choose to do more good.
