We Have Our Lord

As usual, she and her better half were travelling for da'wah. During these journeys, they never concerned themselves with the worldly losses or gains that might come their way. After all, the journeys were meant for spreading the message of Islam, while also giving them their own private space for lighthearted conversations and shared moments.
Even so, some phone calls would occasionally take up their time. Many people would reach out to her, seeking a little relief, carrying the heavy burdens of their pain and difficulties and looking for solace in the spaces of faith.
That day too, they received a call during their journey. After speaking to the caller, she said to her better half, "Even if someone simply listens to them, it will bring them some relief. May our Lord reward you too for supporting me in this."
As soon as she finished speaking, he began:
"Well then, you are there to listen to my troubles. You are able to listen to the troubles of many others and comfort them too. But, my dear, who will you tell your troubles to?"
He was hoping to hear her say, "That's why I have my better half." But her answer was different:
"I have my Lord. Not just mine, but a Lord who is capable of hearing, knowing, and answering the difficulties of everyone. My Lord is enough for me."
Sitting in the back seat of the auto, she gently gave him a playful pinch on the ear.
"Alright, alright... you and your Lord," he said.
She corrected him:
"Our Lord. We have our Lord... Alhamdulillah."
